Stop the world! I want to get off! Has become a common phrase used to express a desire to slow down, consider what is happening around us, and maybe even say, “NO MORE CHANGE!”. What has been your response to the changes happening all around us so far this year? May is a month filled with changes, springtime, flowers, warmer weather, and yes, even unknowns! We experience not just May flowers, but wind, rain, tornados, and depending on one’s location; perhaps even more snow! Not to mention all that is happening in our moment by moment, changing world! So, even if we could “stop the world”, would you go so far as to stop change? Where would you want to get off?
Dictionary definitions of change include, making or becoming something different, and, turning or converting from one state to another. That covers a wide range of possibilities, but all have the same basis or foundation. A desire for something that is different than our present reality. What does God do with change, the One who states, “I change not” Malachi 3:6 , and is preparing a New Heavens and a New Earth for His children. He changes not and His plans have a beginning and an end; but there was a change in heaven and it was someone very special to God who decided to make it.
Change as we know it, had always been possible but never chosen. The day that Lucifer decided to change it became a very different reality. It took on another side…even as a two-sided coin. Change could exude light or darkness!
We know the story beginning in the garden and then, change after change, some for light and others for darkness. Change, it’s just a six-letter word but it is pregnant with action! The bible describes the journeys of Moses, Joseph, Paul, Lydia, Mary Magdalene, and Josiah, all about change!
Amazingly, God even uses it to describe who He is! Where are we in all of this? Where do I want to get off in this world of overwhelming change, leaving lives and hearts strewn in its wake.
I submit to you….stay on board! Victory, even daily, is wrapped in change. Lamentations 3:21-23, God surrounds each morning with a sunrise more than beautiful and saturated with change. His faithfulness to us is great and new every morning!
His unfailing stability offers each of us, His children, unfolding newness which appears as change, but in reality, is glowing opportunities to learn more about His limitless heart and an introduction to eternity! Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Ps. 34:8
As you are experiencing 2025, what kind of change are you choosing? Do you want to place it on hold? Do you want to get off at the next stop? I strongly encourage you to take hold of His unchanging and steady hand and allow His stability to saturate your heart and mind. This change, light, will then unveil a vision of hope and beauty unparalleled by any you have ever, or will ever, witness.
Grace Abounds Ministries is also experiencing change. One of our board members, exceptionally talented and very busy, has needed to lighten his load so will step away from this responsibility. We will certainly miss him and his many gifts. Even though not active up close, he will continue his prayers for this, God’s ministry.
As we move forward our audiences are broadening as the radio opportunities draw nearer. The need for financial and prayerful support continues to be front burner requirements of this, His work. We are so thankful for your support in the past and praise God we are already looking forward to what God will do in your heart as you visit our website. If you have a moment, please write a note of encouragement to our ministry. We would love to hear from you.
Remembering that, ”moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound (be more evident) , but where sin abounds, grace does much more abound! Romans 5:20…Until next time.
