No, mother was not a “trick or treater,” but she would be standing behind as we knocked on the doors of neighbors who knew she was close by. It seemed like a family outing as we walked from door to door, not knowing that this celebration’s origin was in a dark world. 1 Peter 5:8.

The change in this scene has become more than painful. Those homemade goodies have been said by some to contain danger, even death. And many young people have lost their lives during this remembrance of ancient harvest traditions- the dead, while experiencing modern secular fun? Excitement becoming dread and fear.1John 2:15

What a mixture of emotions: Excitement, dread, and fear –Which can be directly connected to groundwork for heart issues according to Yale Medicine. The team reports, “Yes, fear and stress can affect the heart of young people. The symptoms: racing heart, dizziness, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. 3 John 2

With our children and young people already at risk due to lifestyle issues, is introducing them to more fear an act of wisdom? The American Heart Association reported 2011-2022 heart attacks among young people are rising. Though rare, young people can experience sudden death from a heart attack.

So where does this Halloween idea take our children? To peace, comfort, and joy? To a desire to get to know Jesus, their creator? To health and strength for a life ahead and the future of our nation and world? The picture is grim. Matt. 18:6, 10

The Bible states, “And a little child shall lead them” Isaiah. 11:6 And every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17. Dear folks…light not darkness, peace, and joy not fear, anxiety or premature deaths of young people. Is. 41:13-Heb. 13:6 Jesus is coming
