More than six thousand years ago Our Creator said, “Let there be light” and there it was the sun and the stars! And He separated the light from the darkness. During the day, the sun rises and appears as a combination of yellow and gold. (even though up close appears white) Being Ninety-Three million miles away from earth, which travels around the sun, this extremely hot star still nourishes our planet in a number of ways. It provides light for vegetation, makes a positive impact on mental health, and provides safety and protection from a number of diseases just to name a few. Diseases that would impact those created in the image of the God of the universe. Certainly, valuable cargo!

Centuries passed, the year was 1939, the setting, a historic conference at Columbia University tasked with making decisions about school buses. Among these decisions, the color of such important vehicles. Attendees deliberated and among fifty paint colors including red, white, and blue, a decision was finally made— The color would be yellow! Since that year, the “school bus yellow” has become a powerful representation, of education in American history.

Interestingly, the Academy of Ophthalmology later stated that of the colors tested during this conference yellow was chosen because of its effect on color transmission to the brain! This makes it difficult to miss the buses when in traffic, supporting safety and protection of its valuable cargo! Unless you become a little child, you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 18:3

Even though the sun is not moving, it is certainly affecting the cargo carried by planet earth! The cargo God sent His only son to die for when they hated Him! John 3: 16 makes it clear. For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life!

God’s plan, down to the most effective color for “school buses” ! And statistics show that American students are nearly eight times safer riding in a school bus than with their parents and or guardians!

Soon thousands of children will board those yellow school buses being transported to educational sites. God has each of them in mind not just for the protection that yellow brings in traffic, but His concern for their eternal choices. He says in 1John 2:1 “My little children, these things I write unto you, that ye sin not…”
